Number of house finches that chose the control side or experimental side of the chamber. Number of house finches that chose the control side of the chamber (odourless, white bars) or the experimental side (black bars) in relation to the treatment (predator vs. novel scent). In the ‘predator’ treatment, the chamber contained the scent of an omnivorous predator, the common opossum. In the ‘novel scent’ treatment, the experimental side contained red-fruit scented cologne.
