  1. aPCR was conducted in three samples per individual (two blood and one kidney sample).
  2. bLeptospira species were predicted according to the amplification of a 571 fragment of the 16S RNA gene. The best hit of BLAST was used to assign the putative species. A complete sequence of the 16S rRNA gene would validate these findings.
